He received a B.A. in Film & Photography from Montana State University and obtained his Master’s Degree in Film and Television Production at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where he was nominated for a student Golden Reel Award in 2025. At USC he focused on sound design and re recording mixing; studying under Stephen Flick, Midge Costin, and Richard Burton. His films draw inspiration from his very remote upbringing, the characters from that environment, and the surreal, dreamlike qualities of an isolated mountain community. Stylistically he blends the multimedia, emotion led influence of experimental filmmaking, with the comedy and general exciting vibes of the Hollywood cinema and cartoons he grew up watching in the 90’s. He lives by the principle that art should be simultaneously fun and philosophical.
